Day 1: Vietnam - Samtai

Welcome at Lao Vietnamese border at Nameo (Morning)

After immigration , drive in zigzag mountainous road to Samtai (2hours*) home of Tai Khao and Tai Deng with heritage weaving in almost every family (last year we stayed at one of the best guest houses run by family asking the owner about more staffs working in hospitality industry like accommodation and restaurants with answered from guest house owner: “most of people here still do not like working in this work rather than weaving” from the answer I can recognize that service business here is new like my experience in this work in 24 years ago, yes to my idea Samtai is still virgin with nice people, nice local housing style , nice scenery of Nam Sam similar to Namsong in Vangvieng, old temple and stupa… 

On our way we stops for photos of nice rice field with bufalos ,moutian ,river local way of life, on arrival Samtai we explore weaving and talk to local weavers or you can try to weave with them then you will know how it is worth for money and ern a living, we can necogiate and buy silk/cotton stuff from local weaver or community base weaving center.Welcome Baci ceremony by local villager for peace of mind and happiness before our dinner at local restaurant.Over night at best family guest house possible( guest house is clean enough with fan, cold /hot water and basic equipment

Day 2: Samtai-Viengxay -Samneu

After breakfast, we continue to explore local villages at other side of Nam Sam and visit old temple and stupa at old village.

We drive back to junction to Vietnamse border then heading to Viengxay with stop on the way at local villages see local life of weaving, rice whisky distillation.

Arrive Viengxay with beautifull scenery and caves, the famous historical site of Pathetlao , we visit many caves used by Pathetlao leaders during the war time like: Souphanouvong cave ,Kaison Phomvihan cave,Khamtai Siphandone cave and main meeting hall cave …

We continue our drive to Samneu the capital city our Houaphan province

Meals: lunch dinner at local restaurants

Accommodation: Samneu,Houaphan province

Day 3: Samneu-Xiengkhouang

Breakfast at hotel.

Drive on the mountainous road to Xiengkhouang via Nam neun (300km-6-7hours*), on the way we will see beuatifull mountiane view,local villages on the road side, we take a short drive in unpaved road to visit historical site of Hintang stone pole , visit Thampiew war historical cave and Tai Dam textile museum at Muangkham, last stop at Ban Thajoke Hmong village that still well kept over 20 years in welcoming tourists from my experience at my guide time.

On arrival Xiengkhoung we check in and relax at hotel in Phonsavanh the capital city of Xiengkhoung.

Meals: lunch and dinner at local restaurant (famous Hed Vai / Mastake mushroom*)

Accommodation: Phonsavanh town

Day 4: Xiengkhouang-Vientiane

Breakfast at hotel.

Visit color full morning market of Phonsavanh with varieties of local product from different sales including hill tribes

Visit museum of Indochina war

Transfer and visit Thong Hai Hin Plain of Jars site1 then drive to site 2,

Drive to Moungkhoun old capital city of Xiengkhouang,visit ruin of Wat Phiawat, French building,That Foun stupa ,Wat Siphom temple.

if time permit visit Thamphakeng the source of stone making jars in the area.

Return to Phonsavanh for lunch

Transfer to Xiengkhouang airport for flight to Vientiane ( QV402,14:40-15:10)

On arrival Vientiane transfer to hotel in town for check in, free and easy.

Transfer for diner

Meals: lunch at local restaurant, dinner at local restaurant

Accommodation: Vientiane

Day 5: Vientiane-Departure

Breakfast at hotel

Begin city tour of Vientiane Capital to include: the National museum in the city centre which display antiques, photos, tools from early to modern Lao history including revolution period(if not wish please tell your guide),Wat Sisaket the oldest standing temple in Vientiane and houses many important documents and treasures, including 6840 Buddha’s images, Hor Prakeo housed the Emerald Buddha (Prakeo) today is a museum of the most extensive collections of Buddhist artifacts in the country, photo stop or climb to the top for a panoramic view of the city at Patuxay (Victory Gate) the monument was modeled after Arc de Triumph in Paris, yet retains its Laotian identity with traditional decorative motifs , That Luang ( The Great Sacred Stupa) is said to contain relics of the Lord Buddha himself and is the country’s most cherished religious monument. Laos’ largest Buddhist festival of the year is held here on the 12 Th month of the Buddhist calendar. Visit to Talatsao Morning Market for variety of local handicraft products and imported goods.

After noon,transfer to Wattay International airport for flight departure by …
